Free Knitting PatternsHere's the last installment in our free knitting patterns series about choosing yarn.
“Substituting Yarns”
It may happen that your desired yarn may be unavailable
in the market or it may be too expensive according to your
knitting pattern.
In such cases, you can substitute a yarn that will work
the same for you. For example, you can use smooth cotton
yarn in place of fluffy mohair.
Before replacing the yarn-type, be sure to consider the
yarn demand of the knitting pattern. The weight of the
yarn is another important factor that you should take
into consideration.

If you're like me, you sit and knit in front of the TV. In my family it has turned into a major event every night because we now have a new
home theater system. I may have to move out of the room when I knit as I was so engrossed in the movies last night that I actually dropped several stitches, just like a beginner!
Well I hope you have enjoyed the tips we have been giving and look forward to you checking back for more.

Well the great tips for your free knitting patterns just keep coming! Here's a great one for saving money which we all want to do, right?
"Sometimes, you may find that your woolen clothes are out
of fashion or maybe you have a particular piece that you
have never really liked that much. If it is an expensive
yarn, you can easily reuse the yarn using a seven-step
process outlined in-depth in “Knitting Essentials”
Remember, to make the reclaimed yarn useful for knitting you will need to wash it and let it hang dry."

Free Knitting PatternsIt's time for another great tip to think of when you are using your free knitting patterns. While it may take a long time to complete a knitting project, remember that it is always made up of small steps. Here is another great piece of advice sent to me by the knitting expert Sarah Adkins
“Always Consider the Pattern”
The desired pattern should always be clear in your mind
before choosing any wool yarn.
If the intended pattern is complicated then never go with
mohair or angora because your pattern may become lost
under their long and hairy fiber.
When using a complicated pattern, a flat, regularly spun
wool yarn is the better choice.
This may seem like an obvious thing to consider but we all benefit from being reminded of these basic facts. For more knitting advice both simple and more advanced you can

Free Knitting PatternsIn all the discussions about choosing the right yarn we must remember that sometimes it is the simple points that we forget. Following is a snippet of information sent to me by the knitting expert Sarah Adkins
"Always Consider Climate"
Climate is another important factor to consider when
selecting yarn for a knitting project.
If you are designing something for a person living in a
warm area then that person probably cannot even wear a
chunky weight yarn product.
On the other hand, if the person is living in a colder
area then a heavier yarn will be the right choice.
This might seem simple but she is full of great advice both simple and more advanced.

Free Knitting PatternsWhen searching for free knitting patterns you must remember that one of the most important things is selecting the right yarn. Most people spend time selecting just the right free knitting patterns but rush out and buy yarn without enough thought. The following is an excerpt from an email I received from the knitting expert Sarah Adkins.
"Selecting the right quality of yarn is one of the most influential factors of successful knitting. Essentially, the ultimate success or failure of your knitting project may very well depend on your selection of yarn. With this in mind, you will always want to consider who will be using your knitting product when selecting yarn for a project.
For example, if you are knitting a sweater for a man then lovely wool might be the right choice but if you are knitting some winter clothing for a baby that type of wool is probably not the appropriate choice.
When knitting for a baby, always use superwash wool because it allows you to machine wash and dry the yarn frequently. Also, always feel the yarn by rubbing it against your skin. If it feels rough to you, it will definitely feel the same way on a baby's sensitive skin."
